Drain Cleaning, Routering, and Snaking

Drain Cleaning, Routering, and Snaking

Drain Cleaning

Clogs and drain blockages in your drain line prevent your water from draining properly, it also leads to unpleasant odors and corrosion of your pipes.  Blockages and clogs effect and stop the outward flow of water making the drain not work the way it was designed to. These drain backups can be caused from food scraps, grease, hair, paper, and cosmetic products going into your drain pipes.

Drain blocks and health concerns?

If you don’t address a drain clog situation immediately, it has the potential to cause all kinds of problems, including damage to your home and health.  A clogged pipe can allow water to leak into the foundation of your house, leading into problems such as; mildew, mold, and insects as well as contamination.

Solutions

Using a drain snake for rootering is a method for removing drain blocks and cleaning drain lines. A snake also known as rooter is a flexible metal cable that has changeable metal bits. The drain snake is fed into a blocked drain to clean out blocks and clogs in sewer and drain pipes. Snaking equipment needed changes based on the type of drain for example; sink, sewer, toilet.

Another method for solving drain clogs is by using hydro jetters. A hydro jetter is a pump and hose system that uses high water powered jets to clear commercial and residential drain pipes. It can push up to 2-18 gallons of water per minute through a pipe.  Hydro jetters can dislodge the most stubborn obstructions while cleaning your sewer lines at the same time.

The Differences Between Hydro Jetters and Snaking?

The differences between snaking (rootering) and using a hydro jetter is snaking may only permit drainage for a short period of time, where as using a jetter will clean and clear out the entire pipe by breaking up whatever is causing the blockage. This allows the water to flow freely from the pipe.

If you need sewer cleaning, we can do a camera inspection in your sewer line to diagnose the problem. Depending on the severity of the clog we may be able to use a snake (routering) method to break apart and push through the blockages in order to solve the problem.

If the clog or blockage is more severe, you may need hydro jetting to remove and clean all obstructions and stubborn blockages.
